Season's Greetings!

Concert of Interest November 18

On Sunday 18 November at 2pm there is a memorial concert for Ken Wilson who passed away earlier this year.  It is at the Holy Trinity Church in Church St, Devonport. Ken was a well-renowned clarinetist, composer and teacher.  Whilst a single reed player, many oboe players and bassoonists will have played with Ken. If you would like to read more about Ken there is an obituary here:  Ken Wilson The concert features a number of Ken's compositions including a wind octet and a duo for clarinet and bassoon. Players in the concert are people who worked with Ken, including players from the NZSO.  Gordon Skinner, our president, is one of the bassoonists. This is a great opportunity to hear works written by a New Zealand composer who touched the lives of many of New Zealand's well known musicians. This is a free concert.
